Filiz is made by Starbuilt. This page explains what happens to your information when you use the app. The short version: your plants and photos stay on your phone, and we don’t know who you are.

What stays on your phone

Your plants, their photos, care history, health checks and settings are stored only on your device. We have no copy. Deleting the app or using “Erase all data” removes them.

What is sent when you identify or check a plant

When you ask Filiz to identify a plant or check its health, the app sends a smaller copy of the photo, or the name you typed, to our server at api.starbuilt.net. Our server passes it to OpenAI, our AI provider, and returns the answer. We don’t keep the photo or the text after the answer is sent. OpenAI processes it under its API terms: it is not used to train their models and may be kept for up to 30 days to detect abuse.

The random app ID

To count the free identifications you have left each day, the app creates a random ID when it is first opened. Our server stores that ID with the number of uses per day. It is not linked to your name, e-mail, Apple ID or advertising ID.

Reminders

Watering reminders are scheduled on your phone. They are not sent from our server.

What we don’t do

• No accounts, no sign-up.
• No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no analytics tools.
• We never sell or share your information.

Children

Filiz is not meant for children under 13.
